For Mothering Sunday this year, my son gave me a book called ‘How to Read a Tree’ because we have just moved to the New Forest. The book is so interesting, and it made me reflect that as the year starts to slow down and winter draws ever closer, nature shows us a profound truth: rest is not weakness, it’s preparation for renewal. In our busy lives, we often resist stillness, fearing it means doing less. But just as trees, soil, and seeds pause to restore their strength, so too must we. This edition explores the power of rest for individuals, teams, and leaders, reminding us that renewal begins when we allow ourselves to stop. Managing Director, EF training Ltd |

Lessons in Rest and Renewal - we share some ways to 'Winter Well' by reflecting on how we can view winter not as a barren or dark period but as an opportunity to rest and renew. Many animals hibernate until spring, we don’t have that luxury, but we can take this time to slow down and be still and restore ourselves. |

We have put together some ideas to help you focus on what you can do to realign yourself through the winter, some are physical and others are ideas on ways to slow down and reflect. Sometimes the best gift you can give to yourself is permission to just do nothing and take time to focus on yourself without feeling guilty but knowing that you need to refill your emotional energy for yourself and those you care for. |
