Cancer Vs Kindness

Laura Kendrick was a Mum, a Wife, a daughter, a sister, and an NHS professional who was diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer in April 2020. Laura was also a remarkable woman, and whilst undergoing often gruelling cancer treatment she made it her mission to significantly improve the patient experience for those living with cancer. She believed strongly in the impact of the mind-body connection and understood the need to inject more humanity into patient care. Her desire to improve oncology services now and in the future so that compassionate care becomes the standard for every single cancer patient led to the Kindness Vs Cancer Campaign.
Laura died in February 2022 but she has left behind a huge legacy. Laura’s family and her advocate Bep have continued her work. We had the pleasure of meeting with them to learn more about Laura and the campaign she began.
